We invite you to join Sterling Nature Center's newly established Interpretive Center team as a Front Desk and Visitor Services volunteer. This crucial role involves engaging with visitors, providing information about the center and its trails, and ensuring a smooth operation of the visitor shop.
Role Overview: As a Front Desk and Visitor Services volunteer, you will be the face of Sterling Nature Center, offering a warm and informative welcome to all who visit. Your responsibilities will include:
Greeting visitors with a friendly and approachable attitude.
Responding to inquiries about the nature center, exhibits, and the surrounding trail network.
Assisting in managing the visitor shop, requiring basic math skills.
Enhancing the visitor experience through your knowledge and enthusiasm for the natural world.
Representing Sterling Nature Center's mission of conservation and education.
Shifts Available: We have carefully designed our volunteer shifts to accommodate your schedule while ensuring that our Interpretive Center operates seamlessly:
Saturdays and Sundays
Shift 1: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Shift 2: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Flexibility Option: For those who prefer a longer commitment, we offer the opportunity to work a full-day shift from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
