Front Desk and Visitor Services at Sterling Nature Center's Interpretive Center
Dear Potential Volunteers,
Are you passionate about nature, eager to share your knowledge, and committed to fostering a welcoming environment for visitors? We invite you to join Sterling Nature Center's newly established Interpretive Center team as a Front Desk and Visitor Services volunteer. This crucial role involves engaging with visitors, providing information about the center and its trails, and ensuring a smooth operation of the visitor shop.
Role Overview
: As a Front Desk and Visitor Services volunteer, you will be the face of Sterling Nature Center, offering a warm and informative welcome to all who visit. Your responsibilities will include:
Greeting visitors with a friendly and approachable attitude.
Responding to inquiries about the nature center, exhibits, and the surrounding trail network.
Assisting in managing the visitor shop, requiring basic math skills.
Enhancing the visitor experience through your knowledge and enthusiasm for the natural world.
Representing Sterling Nature Center's mission of conservation and education.
Shifts Available
: We have carefully designed our volunteer shifts to accommodate your schedule while ensuring that our Interpretive Center operates seamlessly:
Saturdays and Sundays
Shift 1: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Shift 2: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Flexibility Option: For those who prefer a longer commitment, we offer the opportunity to work a full-day shift from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Requirements:

A warm and welcoming demeanor that makes visitors feel at ease.
Excellent communication skills to effectively convey information to visitors of all ages.
Basic math skills for managing transactions in the visitor shop.
Reliability and punctuality to ensure the smooth operation of the center.
A genuine passion for nature, conservation, and environmental education.

   The trails are open from Dawn to Dusk 

            BUILDING HOURS

Wednesday  -Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm.

 Admission and parking is free.
